Wedged into a narrow plot at the edge of The Canopy District, Café Trauerende was built around a single ancient weeping willow whose trailing branches press against — and occasionally through — the café's hand-rolled glass windows. The structure itself is modest: dark-stained timber frame, rough lime-washed brick, a corrugated iron canopy patinated to the color of sage.
