sea cave landing
The sea cave at the end of the outer mole, the only way into the Reach. At low water a channel opens for two hours and the ferry comes through, scraping the barnacles; at high water the Mouth is a wall of black sea. On the landing stands a single lamp that belongs to no family: the Board's lamp for newcomers. Whoever arrives stands in its light until somebody asks the question.
